Position Title: Electrical Technical Advisor

Department: Energy Projects Service Department (EPSD)

Location: Baghdad – (Home Office) / Abu-Ghraib Workshop

Duties & Responsibilities :

Plan, supervise, and execute all electrical works associated with gas and steam

turbines, generators, switchgear, auxiliaries, and BOP systems during maintenance,

overhaul, and commissioning.

Review electrical design drawings, single-line diagrams, P&ID, and wiring

schematics to verify compliance with OEM specifications, RASEP standards, and

Iraqi regulations.

Inspect, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems, including motors, transformers,

switchgear, Excitation systems, MCCs, control panels, power cables, and protection

relays.

Support start-up, synchronization, and performance testing of turbines and

generators in coordination with mechanical and I&C teams.

Perform insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, and phase verification tests to

ensure safe energization and operation.

Verify electrical parameters during commissioning (voltage, current, power factor,

frequency, and grounding integrity).

Identify, diagnose, and resolve faults in excitation systems, generator protection

schemes, and auxiliary circuits.

Support integration between power plant electrical systems and DCS/PLC control

systems.

Prepare test reports, inspection checklists, and commissioning certificates in

accordance with project documentation standards.

Conduct site visits to evaluate existing plant electrical systems, identifying

rehabilitation or upgrade requirements for both turbine and BOP areas.

Coordinate with Procurement and Warehouse teams to specify required spares,

cables, consumables, and testing instruments.

Provide technical input for RASEP proposals, BOQs, and tenders covering electrical

scopes for gas and thermal power plants and O&G Projects.

Ensure compliance with RASEP’s HSE and QA/QC procedures, as well as Iraqi grid

and safety codes.

Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Field/Industry of Experience: Energy Sectors (power Generation and O&G)
Years of Experience: 7–10 years of experience in power generation electrical systems, covering both gas and thermal power plants.
Language Proficiency: Excellent reporting and documentation skills in English and Arabic.
Software Skills: Skilled in MS Office, AutoCAD, and diagnostic tools (megger, relay testing kits, primary/secondary injection,

etc.).
